wrist update

well, i had my cast cut off yesterday... and now i have a new one! yep, a shiny new plastic "zipper cast". i can take it off to shower etc (it literally unzips). this is a good thing, as the old cast was starting to stink. they soaked the plastic in hot water and then molded it to my arm. i need to wear this one for another 2 weeks or so. the x-rays showed that things are progressing nicely (i have good "boney union"!), but wrist just needs to be imobilised for a little longer for the bone to repair. then after that i'll be getting some physio to get the strength back. it felt pretty weird to get the cast off - my forearm has shrunk a bit, skin is peeling, and i had very little range of motion in the (still a bit misshapen) wrist. but all par for the course.

got two days of shop cleanup to go, then i'm totally finished work for the mountain - yay! need to wax my board and riding today was ridiculously slow on the sticky snow.
