wristy wrist
had my first day back at work. good news is that i can still work, mainly doing greeting and till etc that don't have much manual component. cant use my right (yep, had to be that one) hand much at all at present, but hopefully in a few days when the swelling goes down i'll be able to use it more. spreading toast with the non-dominant hand is surprisingly difficult, tying one's shoes is unsurprisingly difficult. the fracture wasn't a "bad" one - didn't need to be reset and just a small fracture of the arm bone that joins the wrist. lots of swelling though. when i was at the medical clinic, a 19-year-old girl also had a wrist break, but her's was worse and required resetting. that involves freezing the arm with an injection - the poor girl was terrified and balling her eyes out - her parents didn't seem to be doing much of a job of comforting her.
dont think my plans (such as they are) will change much. i'll stick around whistler till the season ends, hopefully getting a little more boarding in. then i have a vague plan to travel to the east coast, and possibly to hang out in montreal for a while.
i guess on the plus side i might do few different things now that i cant board, such as hiking (haven't even been around the lakes yet, which should be beautiful), and maybe even take some photos (yet to take any in whistler - in spare time i've either been too knackered or just wanted to go up the mountain). silver linings and all that.
