wildlife report

wildlife i have seen so far in order of decreasing exoticness/excitement:
  1. an otter! saw it a couple of days ago in the harbour, while taking the very short ferry ride to granville island. it was quite close. very cool.
  2. eagles! not sure what type. seen them on two occasions, down at canada place (sitting on top of a boat mast) and while walking around stanley park yesterday.
  3. these kinda strange completely white birds with clawlike feet. saw them from the chairlift, i assume they are some sort of alpine bird with snow camoflage.
  4. a seal in the harbour. it was a ways out and nz has lots of (smelly) seals, so was less exciting.
  5. squirrels. a dime a dozen in london also (and they are the north american ones), but i like those crazy little guys.

no moose or bears yet, but they will be mine, oh yes, they will be mine!

Won't sleep well until you've seen a moose. Or even better, been gored by one!
